Cellulase

Description

Deerland Cellulase 4000 is an enzyme preparation derived from Aspergillus niger and contains high cellulose (Cx-ase) activity together with beta-glucosidase and hemicellulase.

Activity

Cellulase 4,000 cu/g (Standardized with maltodextrin)

The analysis method is available upon request.

Enzyme Properties

Form Fine dry powder
Color White to light tan
Odor Free of offensive odor
Solubility Readily soluble in water

Chemical Properties

Optimum pH 4.0
pH stability 3.0 to 8.0
Optimum Temp. 60C
Thermal stability Up to 50C

Inactivation

Inactivation can be achieved by raising the temperature to 85C and holding for 15 minutes.

Use Level

Enzyme requirements are generally dictated by processing conditions. They will vary with cellulose substrate concentration, degree of desired cellulose hydrolysis, pH, temperature and time of hydrolysis. Initially evaluate Deerland Cellulase 4000 at 0.10 to 0.50 % based on the weight of cellulose substrate dry matter.

Applications

Food industry Treatment of fruit and vegetable (with pectinase)
Animal feed Increasing feed efficiencies

Storage Stability

In scaled containers, under cool, dry conditions, the product will maintain the declared activity for at least 12 months. Storage life can be extended by storing under refrigeration at 5C.

Packaging

Deerland Cellulase 4000 is available in 25 kg fiber drums with ring seal and lined with a polyethylene bag. Additional packaging is available upon request.
